Critical Analysis of the learning experience.

During an ICT class, using Google Docs as a learning tool has provided a valuable and collaborative learning experience for me. Google Docs is a web-based application that allows users to create, edit, and share documents in real-time. Here's a reflection on the learning experience of using Google Docs during an ICT class: Collaboration: Google Docs enabled me to work together on the same document simultaneously. This fosters collaboration and teamwork, as I could contribute my ideas, edit content, and provide feedback in real-time. This interactive and cooperative approach encourages active participation and engagement among group members, promoting a sense of ownership and shared responsibility for the learning process. Real-time Feedback: With Google Docs, teachers can provide immediate feedback to us as we work on our assignments. This real-time feedback helps us to understand our strengths and areas for improvement promptly. It also allows me ongoing communication betwee...

Reflection on the use of ICT education tools in teaching and learning.

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in teaching and learning has transformed the education landscape, offering new possibilities and opportunities for both educators and students. During our ICT session till date we have particularly learned about  five important ICT tools namely informative tools; Communicative tools, Constructive tools, Co-constructive tools and situating tools. When it comes to informative tools and Communicative tools, they are not very effective. On the contrary constructive. Co-constructive and situated tools are very effective in creating something meaningful. Not only that they are very effective in demonstrating ideas and for online discussion purposes.  Firstly, ICT tools have significantly enhanced the accessibility of educational resources. With the internet and digital platforms, students can access a vast array of information, research materials, and educational content from anywhere, at any time. This accessi...

Trip to Taktshang (video)

My second visit to Taktshang on may 2nd , 2023 with my two friends.  Hiking to the tiger nest was my greatest joy. I enjoyed everything - looking at the scenery, spotting birds on the way., trekking up the mountains. It’s best to start early in the morning, as it gets warmer as we make every step. We come to know the significance of Paro Taktshang in history of Bhutan. It was during the 8th century Guru Rinpoche, considered as the second Buddha had blessed and concealed many sacred sites in Bhutan among which is the Taktshang Pelphug in Paro. He came to Taktshang Pelphug, transformed as Guru Dorji Droloe in order to subdue the malignant spirits there. Tashi Kheudron from Mon also transformed herself into a tigress as a mount for the Guru Dorji Droloe; together they subdued all the evil spirits including the eight classes of malevolent spirits and thereby bounding them with oath as protectors of dharma. He then concealed at the site, many religious treasures including the teachings o...

Wind Prayer Wheel of Dongkola

Image
According to the lineage texts on prayer wheels, prayer wheels are used to accumulate wisdom and merit (good karma) and to purify negativities (bad karma).Prayer wheels are actully made to be turned by hand, wind, water. When part of a temple, people will circle the building clockwise and turn the wheels as they walk. Similarly, wind prayer wheel gain the benefit of circumambulating .In schools, as a teacher while teaching the concepts of direction of wind or lets say concepts on friction one can relate this to students for more undertstanding. Not only that it is the responsibility of the teachers to instill positive dispositions or attitudes in students where we must teach them on spiritual path of life as well.

Significance of mask dance in history of Bhutan.

Image
The dance has a calm and contemplative part that represents the peaceful deities and a rapid and athletic part where the dancers embody wrathful deities. It all began with Guru Padmasambhava, who introduced Tantric Buddhism to Bhutan and originated the Chham dance. The development of mask dances can be divided into three periods. In the first period, Guru Padmasambhava introduced the concept of mask dances.Mask dance personifies social gatherings, the changing of the seasons, and common sentiments and experiences. The mask dances performed in the Dzongs are essential for bringing people together and educating them about their home, culture, and history. Additionally, mask dances provide spiritual messages to audiences. As a teacher, one must try to uphold our own identity as a bhutanese where we must teach our students on the importance of mask dance while teaching history so that our students would enjoy and appreciate our rich culture.

Paro Thongdrol ( during Paro Tsechu)

Image
Paro Thongdrol is a large applique thangka displayed to the public during the annual Paro festival (tsechu). A thongdrol, which means 'liberation on sight,' is revealed in order to confer blessings on those assembled. The Paro Thongdrol is brought out of Rinpung Dzong at approximately 3 am in a chibdrel (ceremonial procession) on the last day of the Paro festival, the 15th day of the second Bhutanese lunar month. The main image is of Guru Rinpoche, flanked by his two consorts Mandarava and Yeshe Tsogyal. The mere viewing of the unfurled thongdrel is said to cleanse the viewer of negative karma. As a teacher, ome must try to teach the valubale things to our students because he or she will be able to implement the exisiting knowledge in his or her future. Bhutan, a country well known for her rich culuture and moral values one must try to make the students proud of being the citizens of this country by relating or incorptaing all the ideas of history and all.
